In order to try to ensure coordinated motor sport development, the Club Automobile de Burundi (CAB) decided to organise simultaneous training for drivers and for officials, all of which was to be delivered by the MSAUK, an FIA Regional Training Provider. On the officials side, training would be provided to marshals and to senior officials, the latter group being selected based on an application form to assess their suitability. A group of selected drivers would receive entry level training on important aspects of theory before testing their skills on some trial grassroots events, where the newly-trained officials can also put into practice what they have learned.
